Yesterday’s Touch

Yesterday’s touch lies in a golden memory
Adorned by white satin ribbon
Ready to be pulled and have soft emotion revealed
As yesterday’s kiss lies in my heart
Pure and untouched in an ocean of blue
Where only he may touch to set me on quenching fire
That unbelievably bursts my seams of joy.

Yesterday’s touch rests tied to my mind
Sealed in a personal  chamber as my flesh desires
Only to adhere and rest
In welcoming arms that shield from open malevolence
Allowing my sanity and exile from everything that hurts
Yesterday’s embrace saves me each moment
As I emerge into its flickering white
And marvel at its sobering danger.

Yesterday’s touch leaves indelible marks
On a sad scorched heart
I’ll never forget the felicity that resides in yesterday’s you
Being with yesterday’s me.
